Having a baby is a very special experience and we are committed to making your childbirth experience as special and comfortable as possible.

Being surrounded by those you care about is very important. The staff of the Family Birthing Center encourages and supports you in having your family members share this experience with you.  In addition, they are here to provide education for you and your family.

Labor and Delivery
We offer 24-hour anesthesia services for epidural pain management and Cesarean sections in our two operating rooms.

The Latest Technology, Including OB Link
Arrowhead Hospital offers OB Link, a web-based software system that allows physicians to monitor the progress of their patients from a home or office computer. With this online connection, doctors can conduct real-time fetal monitoring, check the current maternal condition, and monitor the labor process. This software is unique to the Abrazo Health Care system.

Newborn Nursery
Arrowhead Hospital provides Level I and Level II nursery services. Level II is for newborns with any special medical needs. Security measures are provided to ensure that your newborn is in a safe environment during your entire stay. Only parents with proper identification bands are allowed to enter the nursery.

Post Partum Room -->
Post Partum  
Conveniently located near the nursery, our post partum rooms are private and extremely comfortable. Your newborn can remain with you for the entire stay or, when you need rest, your baby will be well cared for in the nursery. Breastfeeding counselors are available to support you with your breastfeeding needs.

 

Childbirth Classes and Tours
We are committed to keeping you and your family informed and supported throughout every aspect of your pregnancy, delivery, and early parenting stages. That is why we offer a variety of classes, all designed for happier, healthier families. All classes are taught by nurses or medical professionals who work in our Birthing Center and who are Certified Childbirth Educators. Teen Childbirth Education Program
We understand the special physical and emotional needs teens may have as they prepare for childbirth. While these classes cover much of the same information as our general childbirth education classes, our teen programs incorporate additional information that is helpful and supportive to the younger parent. Visitors
Family members and the new “big brothers and big sisters” are welcome to share in your birth experience at any time. Other visitors are welcome during the hospital visiting hours, which are 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Because your baby’s immune system is delicate, we ask that anyone showing signs of illness, including a runny/stuffy nose, sore throat, or cough refrain from visiting.

Pre-Registration
Pre-registration for your delivery at Arrowhead Hospital is available and is highly recommended. We encourage you to pre-register at least two months before your due date. Click here to pre-register online.
