Hospital Expansion
In June 2004, Arrowhead Hospital broke ground on a 174,000 square foot
expansion project that will double the size of the hospital, increase
the bed count to 220, add the latest technology and increase staffing
levels. The expansion is the 20th largest construction project in the state of Arizona.
Completion is scheduled within the next 12 months.

Additional Technological Equipment
- A 32-slice CT scanner (capability to be upgraded to 64-slice)
Increased Bed Count
- Intensive Care Unit (ICU) will increase from 9 to 18 beds with capacity for an additional 6 (24 total)
- Medical, surgical, and telemetry beds will double from 85 to 165
- Operating rooms will increase from 7 to 10 with capacity to have an additional 2
- Emergency Department will expand from 17 to 30 beds
- Women’s and Infants’ Services will expand from the current 14 labor and delivery rooms to offer 20 private post-partum suites for new mothers and families

Additional Medical Services
A third medical office building, 18699 N. 67th Avenue, attached to the hospital is home to numerous primary care physicians and specialists, including orthopedics, OB/GYN, perinatology, neurology, urology, otolaryngology (ears, nose, throat), and additional specialties.
